Maia is originally from Lexington, Kentucky, and has relocated to Charlotte this year. Maia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication focusing on Public Relations from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC) and is on course to complete a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of New York at Albany. Maia accomplished a dynamic collegiate athletic career as a Division 1 volleyball player. With three years of hands-on experience in the nonprofit sector and state government, Maia has cultivated a deep understanding of community engagement, advocacy, and strategic communication.

Outside of Maia’s professional life she enjoys traveling, dancing, reading, drawing, cooking, and photography.
