The Down Syndrome Association (DSA) of Greater Charlotte is a non-profit, family support organization. The goal of the DSA of Greater Charlotte and its families is to enable individuals with Down syndrome (Ds) to reach their full potential and become respected members of their community.

Congratulations to Angela Hamby, who was recognized as a finalist for The NASCAR Foundation’s 2019 Betty Jane France Humanitarian Award! NASCAR Foundation awarded our organization $25,000 to honor Angela’s dedication and hard work over the past 12 years volunteering with Camp Horizon. We love you, Nurse Angela!
We are thrilled to be awarded a $20,000 grant by Speedway Children’s Charities! This grant will help us pilot a day camp NORTH of Charlotte in August 2020!

For expectant and new parents of children with Down syndrome, any opportunity to speak with other parents who have experienced what you are experiencing can be invaluable. The DSA of Greater Charlotte’s First Call program is a volunteer group of trained parent mentors available 24/7 to listen, share, answer questions, and provide valuable information.
