Adult Weekend Retreat (Ages 18+) – Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte

Join us for a two‑night Adult Weekend Retreat at YMCA Camp Thunderbird, created for individuals with Down syndrome ages 18 and older. Campers stay in cabins with peers and participate in a wide range of engaging activities, supported by trained volunteer counselors at a 3:1 ratio.

This retreat focuses on building independence, developing life and adaptive skills, fostering social connections, and creating memorable camp experiences. Campers are encouraged to explore new activities at their own pace in a safe, supportive environment. The weekend also provides valuable respite time for families and caregivers.
