First Call Mentor Training – Become a Volunteer Parent Mentor

The Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte (DSAGC) invites you to join our First Call Mentor Training on February 21, 2026, at Park Road Baptist Church. This comprehensive five-hour training, including a working lunch, is required for anyone interested in serving as a First Call parent mentor, providing guidance and support to new and expecting parents receiving a prenatal or postnatal Down syndrome diagnosis.

As a trained First Call mentor, you will:

  • Offer emotional support and reassurance to families navigating a new diagnosis.

  • Share practical advice and resources from your personal experience as a parent of a child with Down syndrome.

  • Help families feel connected, empowered, and supported in the early stages of their journey.

This training equips volunteers with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families in the Down syndrome community.
